Ha, now that you have been suckered into looking at the thread. Finding interesting and more importantly different locations to take pictures within the Sydney area (seaside) that are unique and have not been photographed to death is getting tricky. One area that a few guys had the pleasure of accompanying me on was South Malabar, thats right, its time to return ! the actual seascape location was pretty bland, however the walk in and the cliffs was pretty sweet, it makes a good alternative to Kurnell but has similar cliffs and there are some really nice positions to get a good view up and down the coast. There is also some old buildings (read concrete shacks) as well.. I will head out this weekend, as usual I will leave the details a bit fluid but it will probably be the Sunday morning. If your keen shoot me a PM or txt, as usual the disclaimer applies, its a bit of a walk and there are heights involved and there is no guarantee of stunning clouds.

Having just received another bit of of the filter puzzle... the long awaited Heliopan CPL I guess I really now have little excuse not to work out how it all goes together! I hear ya on the 'photographed to death' issue... I've now taken to checking a few of the larger picture repositories to validate that a shot is at least a little bit unique. Sooo... this would be an early morning shoot around 10am Do we bring our own Sherpa?Photography is not a crime, but perhaps my abuse of artistic license is?

sooo, ya wanna do Turimetta then? seriously Turimetta is lookign pretty sweet atm, the greens have come out nicely - I do plan to head up there in teh coming weeks, possibly when the sunrise gets earlier, that should scare off a few of the blow ins This Malabar session is a pretty early start, sunrise is around the 6:30am mark, so the idea is to be at the location by 6ish, which means starting the walk about 5:30.

That's being optimistic as conditions may have changed in our absence. I suggest leaving at least 45 mins for mucking around.

oky-doky then... let me know where and when exactly... not sure I can make it as it's not the best trek from my abode... so if I'm not there when you're good to go you just go... are we talking little bay or somewhere else? My geography of these south eastern regions is not the best Photography is not a crime, but perhaps my abuse of artistic license is?

not quite as epic as the northern entrance, but interesting nonetheless...YOLOL see yas there for next weeks session Thanks to Rodney and Michael (and wife!) for braving the hike in, it was fun. Plenty to take pictures of there and I know I will certainly slate this in for another sunrise session in teh future. some refinement required on this, but I am still battling PS Rodney in the thick of it. Random composition - could not be arsed to take the bigstopper off and compose.. lotsa flowers too..

Thanks for organising Gerry and looking forward to the next. Is that a massive dust spot top centre on the first shot (or a round cloud)? I think I like your lower compo on #1 (nice placement of the eye) #3 - too much black at the top and you could probably demagentaise it - maybe a square crop of the middle?D600, D7000, Nikon/Sigma/Tamron Lenses, Nikon Flashes, Sirui/Manfrotto/Benro SticksRodney - My Photo BlogWant: Fast Wide (14|20|24)
