Kodak to file for Chapter 11 Protectiong. Gary Stark Nikon, Canon, Bronica .... stuff The people who want English to be the official language of the United States are uncomfortable with their leaders being fluent in it - US Pres. Bartlet
Re: Kodak to file for Chapter 11 ProtectionWhilst indeed sad, let's not forget that Chapter 11 does not necessarily mean the end of Kodak. Sure, it bodes ill for its future, but it is largely a mechanism to provide bankruptcy protection whilst it tries to reorganise itself. I understand they have sold off their gelatin business, allowing them to purchase the gelatin back at prospectively lower prices. I have also read that cinematic film use will be overtaken by digital within about 2 years. This will be the key driver to the longevity of film production and use. Will there be one major player (Ilford) with a few minors? I definitely would like to see permanency in film production, but am not holding my breath. Regards, Patrick
Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935. Our mug is smug
