Coolpix P6000anyone know anyone that has one ? has it even been released ? i cant find any reviews on it, nothing. for a "flagship" camera this seems bizarre to me that there is just zero info out there apart from specs. there are barely any flickr photos either. i want a P&S for xmas and the p6000 seemed ideal for me cos i can use the sb400 on it aswell. but the more time goes on without any kind of feedback the more i think that it may end up being just a big pile of crap. do you guys think that new RAW format has buried it ? what gives ??? Re: Coolpix P6000They are in store already, dont know anyone that has one yet though. I think the new Windows RAW has put a dent into its potential. Re: Coolpix P6000what does windows raw actually mean ? can you edit it as a raw image or not ? EM1 l 7.5 l 12-40 l 14 l 17 l 25 l 45 l 60 l 75 l AW1 l V3
 Re: Coolpix P6000
apparently ADOBE can edit it, it is just a format designed by MicroSHIT. I am just hoping that Nikon bring back NEF as an option in a firmware upgrade Cameron Nikon F/Nikon 1 | Hasselblad V/XPAN| Leica M/LTM |Sony α/FE/E/Maxxum/M42 Wishlist Nikkor 24/85 f/1.4| Fuji Natura Black Scout-Images | Flickr | 365Project
 Re: Coolpix P6000so you can open it in CS3 and edit in ACR ? thats not too bad. compeltely unbelievabley insane that CNX2 cant open it. i cant understand that at all. EM1 l 7.5 l 12-40 l 14 l 17 l 25 l 45 l 60 l 75 l AW1 l V3
Re: Coolpix P6000well, loooks like nikon screwed up royally with the coolpix again. http://www.bythom.com/compactchallenge.htm i especially like this conclusion...lol Conclusion: If you need pixels, you need the Canon, hands down. If you need the fast, wide, defect-free lens, you need the Panasonic. You don't need the Coolpix. EM1 l 7.5 l 12-40 l 14 l 17 l 25 l 45 l 60 l 75 l AW1 l V3
Re: Coolpix P6000Gotta love Mr Hogan!!! Always good to read his stuff cause he does point out the problems with the Nikon gear. Cameron Nikon F/Nikon 1 | Hasselblad V/XPAN| Leica M/LTM |Sony α/FE/E/Maxxum/M42 Wishlist Nikkor 24/85 f/1.4| Fuji Natura Black Scout-Images | Flickr | 365Project
Re: Coolpix P6000I bought my wife one for her trip to VietNam. (And also to offset the sting of me buying a D700 ) I didnt take many images with it, but had a bit of a play. Has a really nice solid feel to it, with a 'retro' type of design, nice large control wheels etc, also a nice heavy feel, like it's a solid construction. It is very easy to drive, with the manual settings extremely easy to use, without needing to read the instructions. LCD is big and bright also. I got my from Teds on the Gold Coast, near Australia Fair. 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc http://www.awbphotos.com.au
