I am sure Matt realises, but for those who don't be aware this is a 22 year old AIS manual focus lens , not AFS.

Matt they look so similar and the finish is so nice on that 22 yr old lens I could see someone sending off $2k thinking they will get a bargain AFS version, I almost did :D

For the little extra speed I don't think it's worth the extra weight or bulk or price. I think the 70-210 AF-VR would be a much better buy. Let's watch it and see....although a lens collector might want it pretty bad.

I also see there is a 400 mm lens up from the same seller which appeals to me more.
