Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Random Selection - London - Part 4

I felt I was overdue another post of some of our trip photos, having exhausted my POTW material here are some less extraordinary photos from some of the places we visited.

First shot is St Stephen's Tower, commonly know as Big Ben, but Big Ben only refers to the giant Bell inside the tower. I spent a long time on this stretch of road trying to use Rear Curtain Flash to get a bus in the shot, illuminated by flash but the light trails as well. Firstly I'd left the SB- 800 at the hotel (bad move) secondly it was hard to actually judge the timing, as the exposure was 2-4 seconds before the bus arrived in shot. Anyway, patient as always Katie shivered on the side of the road, even helping me spot buses and guess the right timing. Well I didn't get the shot I wanted, but I did get this.

Taken on the same night if I recall correctly this is the London Eye and County Hall as viewed from the bridge near St Stephen's and Houses of Parliament.

A bit more light hearted the next shot shows the lengths the Empire will go to conquer the galaxy.

And Lastly Katie doesn't like this shot but I do, so as a thank you for her patience and perseverance against all odds, and not knocking my block off during the 5 weeks, here is Katie enjoying a cruise on the Thames. (Yes Stubbsy its the 18-200 and its not so crash hot bokeh) :P :P

For a few more Starwars related shots.

Love the first one, so nice to see a different treatment of this icon. Looks like it belongs in "Dr Who" :)

Strangely she is only ever comfortable being photographed with sunnies on, and she wears them outside and driving nearly constantly so it's not that easy to take shots without them either :) While it rained every day bar 2 for the 5 weeks, we did see the sun albeit between downpours.

I agree... I took mine but cannot remember wearing them even once...:)

Great set... the second one looks like a postcard... actually better than a lot of the postcards that are available to tell you the truth...

the first one is almost eerie...but I likes it anyway...

and the portrait of your lovely wife is gorgeous...:)
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but it's still on the list... ;)
