The challenge with images that are so much in our consciousness like the Pasha Bulker is to get a different take on the subject and in that regard James has done very well. Congratulations.

		 POTW 25 June 07Well it's a bit late happening so, without further fanfare, here's my choice of Picture of the Week. It was taken by a fellow Novocastrian of a highly photographed object I haven't even pointed my camera at. Call me parochial if you like, but there's a great eerie quality to this image by James that really appeals to me.

 I liked it when I first saw it and can see why you picked it Peter - well done James on a excellent pic Chris -------------------------------- I started my life with nothing and I’ve still got most of it left
 It is a good image. Everything is just right with it. The lighting is perfect, giving foreground, background and even the lights on the ship are just right. The wave crashing the port-aft side of the ship has just enough blurring to make it look 'alive' with motion. The ship itself, resting on the beach with the bow clearly aground.
 Well done James. A worthy winner. Steve.  |D700| D2H | F5 | 70-200VR | 85 1.4 | 50 1.4 | 28-70 | 10.5 | 12-24 | SB800 | Website-> http://www.stevekilburn.com Leeds United for promotion in 2014 - Hurrah!!!
 Beautiful shot, best I've seen of it, including the press photos!

 Thank you all for your comments. I am stiil fairly green when it comes to photography and glad that this one turned out so well. As you well know every man and his dog from newcastle (except stubbsy) have taken a look and a photo of the ship and i have been sent countless emails with photos. I set out to get some night shots simply because i have only seen a few and to get something differant to all the others floating round.
 I really like this one as it just had the right feel. i have others taken on faster and slower speeds but they just arn't right. Thanks for choosing my photo and thanks to stubbsy for sending me a PM telling me cause i would have never thought to look for my photo in POTW cheers James
 Congratulations on the POTW James! Well executed and great pick Stubbsy. Hassy, Leica, Nikon, iPhone Come follow the rabbit hole...
 Make that two from Newcastle that haven't photographed the Pasha Very nice capture James, well done. A very good novocastrian pick Peter Cheers, André Photography, as a powerful medium of expression and communications, offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation and execution. And if you want to watch the refloat attempt there's a webcam now trained on the ship http://www.coastalwatch.com/camera/NobbysBeach.htm
 As I type it's moved a bit, but a cable has snapped Peter Disclaimer: I know nothing about anything. *** smugmug galleries: http://www.stubbsy.smugmug.com ***
