DSLR Deep Sea Fishing?

Hi all,
I'm toying with the idea of investigating a deep sea fishing trip (from Sydney) for any members who may be keen on a half/full day expedition. I've not done this before but it is something I've always been keen on trying. I will poll this and wait to see what sort of response I get before going any further. Any extra comments/theories or ideas are warmly welcomed.

I've voted yes, I'm definitely interested but it will come down to the date and the price tag, but it's a great idea.. I think I'd be banned from bring the camera along but I'm sure there will be plenty on board to capture the days events.

Depending on the type of boat/vessel I'd probably take my camera. If there's an upper fly bridge then u'd get some great shots down onto the fishermen and fish!!

Something that I've always enjoyed. but don't get your hopes up for a flybridge 45 foot Bertram like the game boys use ... limited accomodation and heaps expensive

There are good 65 foot charter boats that provide handlines / deck reels but tend not to take you to the really good reefs unless you're a regular

It's been my experience that with a mixed bag of anglers, some will get sea sick and will do anything to get back to shore

Still a great idea, but you may want to consider mid-week when the price is lower and the skipper will be more helpful in finding fish.

Geoff, count me in - regardless of affordability. If others are keen but are restricted by cash, I'll offer to subsidise. Money shouldn't be a barrier to life's enjoyment!

I haven't been known for sea sickness, except on the one occasion lacking sleep the night before. (hint: don't make it an early start and everyone will be fine)

If this goes ahead, would we individuals interested have to organise fishing licenses? Can I take my skin diving gear along?

Some friendly advice, don't eat prawn mayo sandwiches for breakfast before going North Sea fishing in rough seas

I'll bring my sea leg tablets!
