 Again,
A miriad of brilliant entries this week and it's never an easy choice. However, with that in mind I have chosen Doug (Potatis') first serious go at a pano of the Spit Bridge.

Doug's photographic ability (in my opinion) has come ahead in leaps and bounds since he began on this forum last year. This image, taken with the Tamron 70-300mm and his new Benro tripod has some excellent merits in it. Including (as already mentioned in the thread) the smoothness of the image despite the varying light intensities, the over lapping and non detectable stitching of the image and also the serene composition of this shot!
I'm yet to ask Doug how much he will charge me for a printed/framed version. Having grown up in the area I would really like to hang this on a wall in my home! Doug - you have done yourself proud mate. If this is your first attempt at a pano, and you are now itching to get out and do more - I implore you to do exactly that - and post post post away here on the forum!
Congratulations!! Very worthy image for POTW 2006!!
Anyone who missed it - thread here . and the actual photo here .

My understanding is you quoted this POTW is POTW 2006, and it's already stoodout for the entirely POTW in the next coming weeks.Last edited by birddog114 on Mon Jan 09, 2006 6:03 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Congratulations Doug, a worthy winner this week.
Edit - I've just re-read my post and it sounds like I've said that other weeks are not worthy. That isn't what I meant and I hope no one has taken offence to that.

Another reason why I like this shot is that where (I think) it was taken from is where Bel and I often have a picnic or short stop and just take it all in

 Well done, Doug.
This shot is simply stunning! It is so moody and the lights in the buildings stand out beautifully against the dark scene. I used to live in the Northern Beaches in Sydney and drove over the Spit Bridge 5 days a week on my way to my job as a birdkeeper at Taronga Zoo. I now live in Brisvegas and the memories come flooding back. A shot to be proud of!
