Fireflies???The following was taken at the same time as my Challenge 6 entry “Rush Hour” and is actually the same subject; i.e. Brisbane’s south east freeway. The ten-second exposure was done while walking along the overpass from which I had taken the original entry shot. It certainly made for an abstract result.

This has a really interest appeal for me. I like, although i'm not entirely sure why. Must be the patterns.

I'm with Steve on this Simon. AN interesting and clever abstract that grabs and holds my interest. Well done.

Good one Simon...
Personally I would have voted that one higher than your actual entry... I find it much more interesting and creative than the static shot... Cheers, John

That is a very good abstract, just shows what can be done with a little imagination.

Thank you, gents, for your kind words. This sort of stuff certainly polarises viewers into the love it or hate it camp and I guess the haters have decided not to be nasty and just moved on without comment.
![]() Steve: I'm pleased you like it Peter: Thanks for the positive comments Leek: Thanks, John. I actually thought pretty hard about entering this one but decided not to on the basis that its appeal lay in what it was and how it was acheived. My personal opinion on the Challenges is that images should be seen to fit the theme without the photographer having to explain much to the viewer and, in this respect, this image failed my own test. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciated the description you added to your entry but, for me, your image's relationship to the theme was already obvious and your words just added interest without explaining what the viewer was supposed to see. I'm not sure 'Fireflies' would have stood out without a detailed explanation. Big Bix: Thanks Bernie - thought the abstract would appeal to you! Oneputt: Thank you John for your comments. Simon
