Flash or no flash?Need everyone's opinion on what looks better? Re: Flash or no flash?Neither of these photos work well in my opinion. For that ambient light, I would use flash, but bounce it and/or get the flash off camera. Lighting, particularly portrait lighting is a whole giant can of worms. The best website I know looking at lighting (mainly flash) is David Hobby's Strobist site: http://strobist.blogspot.com/ In particular look at his lighting 101 (top right of the home page) The best lighting book, or source of any kind for that matter, that I know is "Light Science & Magic" I bought mine in Dymocks but it shows up on all the usual online sources as well. Re: Flash or no flash?I think, that Stephen does not have access to the Humour section may change the context of his post. I think it is a crack-up. Regards, Patrick
Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935. Our mug is smug

Haha! Mr Darcy, You've been had.
 Re: Flash or no flash?
So have you. You got the wrong Flash (I did notice, but decided to treat it as a real question). Mind you I really should have pointed out the very poor matching of lighting. Greg It's easy to be good... when there is nothing else to do
Re: Flash or no flash?Mmmh, need a bloody big bag to carry that flash 1 shot out of focus is a mistake, 10 shots out of focus is an experiment, 100 shots out of focus is a style!, anonymous.
