I had a quick look at teh (Hi Gerry

) specs of the new beast. Can't say that I see any great difference to the SB900.
Since the "new" flash looks identical to the old one, I assume the hard filters will be backwards compatible. The "new button is just an old one re-assigned. I use the manual zoom regularly, so losing the dedicated button for that hurts. That leaves the "New" thermal sensing circuit. Not sure that that will add anything. Slow recycle instead of fast recycle then stop. The only time I came up against this evil beast was when I attempted a battery life test. It stopped after 90 or so flashes. Interestingly, it wasn't the head that was hot. It was the batteries, so maybe Cam is right and they have moved the sensor.
Methinks they should show some honesty and call it the SB-900a
And make the "menu/Zoom" button a Fn button that you can assign according to your needs.
PS, Suren why are you reporting on Nikon product. Thinking of jumping ship?
PPS Cam when will we see you up here again?
