Well, I bought it today for $600. Small glitch: it was a display model and they forgot to repack the battery charger, so I called them and I'll have to drop back in there (sigh). Still, it's getting wrapped up for Christmas so I wouldn't be using it before then anyway, I guess.
On the positive side: out of the blue a friend said he would give me a 50mm f/1.8 lens! I'll have to focus manually, but still, I really like taking photos of people, so that'll be fun.
Four days to go ...
