Great meet! So... Next?

Great catching up with you all! Steve (registered yet?), Micheal, Francine (did I get that right?!) And I'm really sorry Christian but I have (yet again) forgotten your wife's name!

I had a great time playing with the Sb800+Sb600 on commander mode! I will post pics tonight or tomorrow

Now should we do the discussed Commonwealth bridge dusk to night meet on a weeknight?

Thanks Christian for letting me have another play with the 70-200.... dangerous indeed! And it works so well with the 1.7TC...

Cheers,
Scott

Thank you everyone who came along.

We had Mr and Mrs christiand, Mr and Mrs MHD, little MHD and Mr and Mrs ru32day plus their son attend. I allmost forgot Steve and his sons.
Steve is lurking for the time being.
This was a first get together with Canberran members who hadn't met before.
We were checking each other out and quickly engaged in friendly discussions about our camera gear, the temptations of Birddog114, and where we were coming from, our back grounds, photographic experience and why we were doing this.
We were sharing our experiences.
We had quite some fun putting our flashgun power into gear.
Everyone has an external flash that can be turned into a remote flash.
It was very interesting to have three flashguns illuminate an image.
We are starting to plan and implement shooting meets and tutorials.
I believe that we have great potential and also the right environment to form a cooperative (so to speak) that will beneficary for every member.
We are in the process of defining the framework for a night shooting mission in a fortnight.

Thanks again and let us know what the members would like to do in a fortnight.
I'd like to suggest that we concentrate on the area between National Library and National Gallery just before sunset, Saturday 12-02-05
19:00 at the National Library.

Cheers

wow,

what great possibilities with a number of slave, remote flashes.
I really like this subject a lot.
Imagine you can plant a flashlite somewhere away from your D70 and illuminate a defined area with a controlled amount of flash.
How cool is that ?

Ohhh, this is superb !
I'm getting carried away because I like this a lot.
Sydney dudettes and dudes try the same. It will make you drooling !!!

Yeah 12/2 is looking good!

I would suggest just slightly earlier than 19:00 that way there is less chance of missing the golden light...

Now who is in charge of the weather :)

Seems like it was a great meet!

MHD, I checked the meet pics on your website and I found the results of flash photography were really great, especially the #2 ("Francine lit by two SB-800).

Do you think it'd be possible to get the same result with only one SB 800 and the internal flash (the SB800 would of course not be mounted on the camera)?

Link.

Well not exactly the same result... But if you have a Sb800 whats to stop you experimenting!!!

The on-board-flash has no where near the same power as a sb-800

grumble ...
