nice shots, but they are not black gulls

I'm no bird expert, but I think they are Pied Oystercatchers.

I like the third one the best. Having the foreground in shade works nicely on that shot. The oystercatchers are also very nice. I thought of getting a picture of them, but didn't have the right lens and I didn't think that I would be able to get close enough.

I like how the lines in the sand draw you into the picture in this image.
I would rate this 2nd.

This shot, to me, is just the standard beach photo. Perhaps a different angle, from down near your knees might have given this a more interesting composition ?? IMO
I would rate this 3rd.

This image I definitely rate 1st. It is very nice indeed. The cloud formations are interesting to look at and the image makes the sky look huge (and brings emphasis to the clouds.

I rate this one 4th as it doesn't do very much for me. I'd prefer to see a closer view or a more side on shot....but that's just me. Nice DOF though.

Absolutely agree! The sand (dune?) on the right kind of give the image a slightly "unbalanced" look though (if that's the correct description to use). May be it's just my eyes playing tricks on me. Perhaps they can be trimmed down a little?
