Absolutely love the shot. Awesome sharpness. Nice kittie kat.
I would have never thought to use a Macro lens. I will give this a go at Taronga Zoo when in Sydney at August.

The 105 had the right reach and having a f/2.8 meant that I could shoot open and the glass and associated smudges just disapeared!
This was taken at taronga... Hint: Go on sunday and go early!! The great unwashed arrive at about 11.30 am and you get queues 3 deep at popular enclosures light the lions den...

Or on a weekday or when it's a little overcast (or both). The great unwashed hate wet weather and they work during the week
Edit: Scott - forgot to comment. I like the shot and the composition a lot. One little niggle is it seems a little warm - but then that may have been the light.
Posted: Tue Jun 14, 2005 12:05 pmStubbsy, Id say it's the light as MHD suggested getting there early. It's like the shot of the Kite I took on the weekend. During normal light it's pure white, when the sun is low in the sky it goes a golden yellow. I tried adjusting the WB in NC but the golden color still comes through. No point trying to correct something if it's the way you actually viewed it.
