Hi

This is my first posting to this Forum (Image Revies and Critiques)

I have seen a number of Moon shots - this one was my first attempt using the D70. Taken at 300m and used a tripode and EV compenation to eliminate any blooming. Cropped the photo in Photoshop to eliminate dark spaces - no other processing.

Hi Steve - what can one say about the moon except nice shot. More of interest is which 300mm lens did you use and secondly the moon certainly looks different over Honolulu

I sometimes wish we had more than one moon which would be fascinating especially if they were closer - but I suppose I am an old trekkie at heart

This one is from downunder and I can see a difference in the view here.

I used an old lens that I had for my Nikon 35mm SLR. Nothing fancy. It was a Quantaray, 70-300mm, Marco, 1:4 - 5.6 D. Purchased the lens about 3 years ago and have used it on a number of Nikon cameras.

Hi Wombat,

you could try to take another moon shot with f11 and 1/100.
If that doesnt turn out ok, play with it and you will get a nice result.
(what I'm saying is: go manual ...)

Yes there are difference - the little spot on the top/right of my image is a the bottom/right on your image. We now have a Nothern and Southern Hemisphere perspective.

Finally got to upload images with a lot of initial problems - sorted out now.
