Shot this while killin some time visiting my grandparents

The sky was soo blue that day it made almost every shot I took just seem super-rich in color. No post-processing at all.

Nice colour but just a little blown on the cone. Would suggest a crop to take the cone away from the centre of the pic - these are just my opinions.

Very good natural colour (especially since it is stright from the camera), was the WB preset or just left on auto?

The only thing for me is that the content is, well a little bit boring.... Sorry.

love the colours - excellent with no PP. Sharpe image with good DOF.

Like Chris I also would crop on the right of the image and perhaps a little off the top as well.

Nice use of colour, using the dull grey and green of the pine tree as a subject in front of the rich blue sky. Blue, green and grey being complimentary colours of course.

But one thing that i think of when i view your pic is. 'What is the subject?'

Is it the pine cone, is it the tree branch?

But anyway, i like it as it is, it's quite abstract.

Yeah, I've got a lot to learn. The composure leaves a lot to be desired (as do most of my photos), but when I went through my shots the DOF and color just really struck me and I liked it anyway.

I'm one of those hard-headed german-blooded ppl that only seems to learn by my own mistakes/lucky shots. This is my first SLR ever. Previous cams were all point and shoots, with my last cam (a Dimage 7i) sort of crossing me over into wanting an SLR. I haven't been able to set it down since I've gotten it and I hope my persistence leads me somewhere eventually

To the other poster, the white balance was on auto, and the exposure was aperture priority.

I compare photography with golf.

It's extremely difficult at first but when you finally hit that sweet spot the feeling is incredible and you lust for more. There few satisfactions greater than hitting that white ball sweetly or taking that photo that just says, 'i did that.'

Keep it up, take heaps of pics and be your own worst critic.
