I managed to catch this sequence. There are about 20 shots, however the rider and bike came flying at me, through excitement and focal length many are well out of focus.

These aren't to bad, they tell a story, so I apologise for the number of images.

GONESKI!!!!!!

The rider came to rest about 2 metres right in front of me, semi concious. He left in a next brace and oxygen mask. The race continued for about 1 minute before help got to him. It was really hard to just watch him. I don't think there was any really serious injury.

If anyone knows any Aussie motorcycle magazines that may want images, let me know. I'll shout you a beer.

Great series of shots.

The rider was lucky he did not get too high in the air before it draged him down. A high side that ended up a low side, still hurts. I had a high side 20 years ago at a much lower speed than what this guy was doing so I know he must be sore.  :(

Hope you had your other eye open so you knew when to duck/run. :D

I think you got enough reasonable shots out of the 20-odd to make it worthwhile!

I think that's the plastic "windscreen" which shattered before the 3rd frame...

Great series of shots .It was a sickening feeling just standing there watching and waiting for help to arrive, but I guess things turned out OK.

Having come a gutser off bikes a few times, I feel for the bloke. I'm sure he will be back in the saddle very quickly. They would be great shots for any bike mag. Great series Raskill.

bumthology: D2H = 8fps.

Nice shots Alan, but they look a touch oversaturated and some (the sharper ones) seem a little oversharpened (halos) to me. Where were these taken, turn 4? That turn has seen a bit of action of late, with the A1GP rollover and now this. :)

Thanks folks, it was right place, right time stuff.

The pics are taken at the exit to turn 9, a down hill tight left hander.

Trent, I'll have to check the sharpening settings. The colours are extremely close to being out of the camera. It was very green down there for some reason.

Bum, the D2h gives 8FPS like trent said, it's a good entry level sports camera, producing excellent quality images for a decent price.
