These were taken with a combination of a 70-200 f/2.8 VR, Nikon 12-24, 50mm f/1.8 and a Sigma 18-200, all attached to my D80.

Harry, Can I quickly suggest that you break this post into two parts ?

You have 9 photos posted, all good, and I'd love to comment on them all in a bit of detail, but the forum guidelines suggest only 4 per post to give everyone a chance to make some clear, honest feedback to it would help your cause in getting more indepth feedback.

If you do split them I'll make sure I give some feedback on each shot, just as it is, its a bit overwhelming.

While I understand you've put "no 56K" in the subject this is just way too many images in a post. Even on ADSL that took a while to load and I just did a quick count and it's something like 3.5Mb of images when this page is hit.

This is your second post today where you've exceeded our guidelines (the other one had 7 images). To be honest I let that other post slide figuring it was a one off. Please read the FAQ and adhere to our guidelines in the future.

And to be honest I think you are doing yourself a disservice by not picking just the cream of the crop and posting those. If people want to look at a gallery of your work you should have link for that purpose. MY experience is that too many images fatigue the viewer and can lead to LESS valuable critique which is the purpose of posting here after all.

Sorry about that guys, it's edited now and i'll have a read over the guidelines, some help on the images would be great.

#1 I really like this one, and I like the contrast of light near the ceiling and dark at the bottom, that said I can't help but want to see a little more information retrieved in the shadows so we can make out a bit more of what is below the cross.

#2 Number 2 for me lacks a strong focal point, I look at the first two people but then am distracted by the oncoming couple, I'd personally suggest a crop to remove them, its actually a shame they are there at all, but can't be helped. Its funny you have a peron position near every lamppost. I'd crop at least the two far left, if not all three... see how that looks.

#3 I like the main focus, but again I'm drawn away from the mini to the car in the distance.. the leading lines lead up to it.. the road and the posts, yet I feel this isn't the focus of the photo. I'd again think about cropping to where the side street comes in and keep the mini at the main focus of the shot..

Style wise I like all the B&W, they don't seem to be over done.. and have a photojournalist feel to them some how.

i agree with craig here, by cropping the second and third ones - i think to portrait for the second - u will get rid of all the other elements in the image that distract from the main focus.

the black and white treatment works really well with these photos! i think gives them an older look.
