Hello,

I thought it about time I posted some of my d70 shots.

I went to Featherdale widlife park the other day and got some terrific shots of these guys. WOuld appreciate critisicm and advice.

Overall the pics are very good.

I particurarly like the first shot as there is a very nice balance of contrast.

In the second shot I can’t find a focus point (maybe my monitors).

Third shot - my favourite bird. Just off topic for a sec I was putting some banana on my balconey railing yesterday and one land two inches from my hand, picked up the banana, looked at me for a few seconds, and then flew off. No camera to hand - bugger. A little lightning of the kookas dark feathers would enhance this photo IMO.

4th pic - I like

The first image certainly pulls at one's heartstrings. I'd like to see a little less depth of field in all of them if it's possible, as the surrounding branches and leaves are sort of in the way of isolating the subjects.

Great to see another animal person My feeble attempt at critique (I'm trying) :

Shot #1: Looks as though it would have been a difficult shot for highlight exposure judging by the light coming through the tree on an angle... Dunno what time of day it was as I couldn't get the exif by saving the image locally (might be me stuffing up though). Enjoyed the composition very much.

Shot #2: That one I really like in an emotional way, very artistic framing.

Shot #3: DDE would help a lot to "even out" the dark feathers and highlights as I lose the feather detail... Have a play with DDE to see the differences...

Shot #4: Great catch in a focussed pose. Can't offer much on that one.

Dunno if this helps at all, I'm only a beginner and feel apprehensive about critique but I really enjoyed the shots as I'm an animal nut... Just got home from the Melbourne Zoo (again)... I'll post some stuff later for input...
