hi

i really like the original, this one the blacks are a bit too strong(saturated) and there is a lot of detail lost.

thanks for sharing

Great! Love this one, Macka. B&W treatment suits it so well. Did he catch anything?

Hi Macka,

I agree with Byrt_001 on the blacks; quite some detail lost.
However the BW is more dramatic, scary.
I hope he didn't get washed away or taken by the big one ...

Cheers,
CD

It was a pretty quick and dirty conversion... I'll have another go sometime, but I was after a contrasty image.

Not sure if he caught one. He had to leave quite soon after whena big set came along. not a moment too soon either

Thanks for the comments,

I love it - nice composition and framing with that long rod.

Great shot!
The only problem I have with it is that the person in the photo is a bloody idiot. Rock fishing should be banned. It is one of the most dangerous 'sports' there is. Sadly, many Rock Fishermen can't even swim/aren't strong swimmers. Go fish off a wharf or something!! Yes, I feel quite passionate about this. No one can say this is a 'safe' sport. I have seen fist hand on many occasions family lose their loved one, who was out trying to catch a fish, risking their life for a fricken fish! </end rant>. Sorry to hijack the thread.

Geoff,

That's ok. It's not something you would ever see me doing either. Not long after he moved some pretty big waves crashed right where he had been standing.
