I finally decided to put my favorite photos of the past year into their own folder (on Pixspot). As there are 30 images, I have posted a link to the gallery.

If anyone is bored enough to look through my gallery, I would be interested in any & all feedback or comments you may have...

I really dig Wharves 03, the "62" shot. It jumped out at me when it first got posted, and this reminded me of its awesomeness(?)

May your 2006 be just as productive, if not moreso!

I'm intrigued by the shot of the proposal, for the story and emotion that it conveys. Was this something you just happened to spot?

This was actually a "staged" shot for the Decisive Moments Challenge, held last year. I really like the shot & think it looks quite genuine....even though I know it isn't. I just didn't think it was a contender for the Challenge (at the time), so I didn't enter it.

This photo is of my best friend and his girlfriend, taken in the Gardens near the Myer Music Bowl (in Melbourne). I can tell you that quite a number of people that have seen this have thought it was the "real thing" and thought they were engaged.....but he is still keeping her waiting

Also, the number of people that passed us on the day must have wondered why he kept proposing to her, again & again & again..... Of course, I was quite some distance back, shooting with the 70-300, so they didn't notice me snapping away in the background. It must have appeared quite odd to the passers-by

During PP, I converted it to B&W and it looked way better than the colour version, so I have kept it as such ever since.

Hope this helps with the intrigue :)

So that's the emotion on her face: wistfulness! :)

Lovely photo anyway. Hope your best friend lets you photograph the real proposal, if it gets to that point...

My fav would be "card flick" then "Andy 05" followed by "Jennifer".

I like the way you've managed to show the motion of the card and this gave me the feeling that it is about to curve in and strike me (did it hit the camera?).

Andy05 - the clenched fist, the angle of the shot and the yellow and red colours (blanket and cap) all work for me. Perhaps a greater DOF so that the face is not out of focus would help improve the image.
p.s. it looks like the baby has been ordained as a Ferrari supporter, hope he doesnt hold a grudge when he grows up   I'm sure they will regain their supremacy, but really doubt it will be such a long streak as the glory years of the late 90s and early 2000s.

"Jennifer" is also a lovely picture. It shows the innocence of a child's eyes perfectly. The blanket on the left, with the fringe on the RHS balances out the image. I think I saw this posted earlier (on these forums?).
