Originally went looking for turtles, captured this instead.

I think it would have been better without the footprints on the lower part of the beach (they're my size 15s :oops:

).

Nice, perhaps a bit more light in the foreground so i can actually see more of the image, but very nice anyway. I think the footprints work well.

Hi Dion

This is a lovely moody photo. However, the bottom 25% seems fairly dark on my monitor. I can barely see the footprints.

It's lovely seeing the sun set into the ocean.

I'm using my new 19" LCD ... so it could be a problem with my PP ... though I had calibrated it fairly well (by eye) and it comes up okay on my DVD player in a slideshow.

Anyone else got problems with the image darkness?

Might be a smidge dark in the foreground but works well for the mood of the image (17" non-calibrated CRD here at work)...

My LCD is ultra bright and its a tiny bit too dark on mine (to my tastes).
You have size 15, :shock:

how tall are you ?

My monitor is calibrated and it is just a bit on the dark side on the bottom half, if you have CS or CS2 you may be able to boost the shadow detail some :?:

I think it is a great image otherwise and has great warmth from the light, you did well fcing the sun to get the exposure you have :!:

I didn't find the image foreground too dark, maybe that impression stems from most people using the (far too bright) default forum skin? After dragging the pic onto my mid-gray desktop it looked even less objectionable. There is not a hint of darkness if you switch the forum skin to "broken LCD"

That one is a bit hard on the eye otherwise, though.

Maybe we need a new, neutral, mid-toned, non-distracting yet clearly legible theme?
