Not much going on so I thought I'd post some trials from today. What do you think?

I set the WB on the sky instead of the green bag that I normally have in my car. The look is different.

WOW, look at the snow !!!

You could think that there is heaps of snow in these images.
Trees and ground are covered in snow !
(must be my European heritage, I always get confused when Christmas
is in summer.)

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
CD

They are very good. A white xmas in Campbelltown. I love your "blue" treatment and am interested in how you do that.

Good IR examples, they always make me think of snow too...

The bits of really dark sky in the first make me think it's like some sort of midnight image, really catching...

Not sure about the blue colored one, be interesting though to try the various hues when colorizing (or what-ever effect is)...

Thanks for the comments. Matt, I first do "autolevel" then I use the channel mixer to keep the blue in the sky (Red channel: red=0/blue=100 - Blue channel: red=100/blue=0 ), that is if you set the WB on some green stuff, then in the "Hue/Saturation" I remove the red and magenta.

Gerard

Glamy,
Nice pics of White Xmas!!!!!
It's typical Xmas Down Under with white snow covered under the heat up to 40 degree.
Thanks for sharing.

Gerard. These are good, but I really like the first one most. Is the IR filter a new toy from Santa?

The first one is nice.

I think you need more contrast in the other two...

Stubbsy,
I have had this filter for a while, that was for the Christmas in June,or the one in July.
Leigh,
I have to work out how to use the different channels because as it is, if I try and get more contrast, I blow the highlights.
Thanks all for the comments,
Cheers,
Gerard

Third one's my favourite.

Well done

They're nice, but the first two have too much contrast and the highlights are overexposed. I find the blocks of white distracting.

(I was posting this after Leigh's comment, but when editing this I see some similar comments in the time since.)

It's nice to see some more folk experimenting with IR! :)
