Ever wonder what frogs look like when they are calling from water??? Probably not ?? :)
Anyway, we were out last night in the rain looking for a rare frog (we didn't find it), but I took a couple of shots of a striped marsh frog calling from under the ledge of a garden pond. Involved laying in the mud on my side, hanging out over the pond sideways, holding the SB600 in one hand, the D70 in the other, and trying to get a shot through vegetation on the bank..... but it didn't turn out too bad :)

Hope you like it (And Chris - took your advice about picture size and quality :) )

LOL - true :) But then the lovely ladies won't find him quite as attractive :)
Maybe I should be a frog??? Not for the ladies (!!), but at least my double chin won't be so noticeable :)

Great shot Rel, that sounds like photography beyond the call of duty! How do you manage to keep your kit dry?

Thanks BP, Greg & Moggy :)

BP - sure you can wear your designer jeans, but I'm not guaranteeing that they'll be coming home in the same condition you went out in :)

Greg - way too kind (but thankyou  )

And Moggy, the things I do to my kit would make your hair go grey, and then fall out. I must admit, I'm usually trying to get a shot, and am not paying enough attention to what I'm doing TO my kit :) (My other half wants to know if it is normal practice to have lenses and camera spread out over the bed in the spare bedroom?????) I'm going to have to start paying attention (well, sooner or later :) )

Thanks again
I'm off to bed (supposed to be getting up at 4!!!!)

Not too bad??? That's bloody good. If I was in the position that you were I think that I would have trouble holding the camera still.

Rel - wonderful shot and it opens in a second :D

Thanks again for your comments everyone :)

Xerubus - I don't actually use anything  Generally, I'll have a spray jacket on (well not always, but sometimes), and have my camera stuffed under my shirt - take the camera out for a shot, and put it back under my shirt.....
come to think of it, I'm amazed my camera still works !!!! My crumpler bag is waterproof, so lenses etc in the bag are protected..... once, when it was really pissing down, I actually tied a garbage bag around my camera.

Oh my god - reading that makes me look soooo bad....

what does everyone else do??????

Having been out in the field with you Rel I know what you go through to get your shots. I'm going to rethink my attire next time. Now where are those wetsuits of mine....

I always enjoy your images of this other world... This one gives me a feeling of being almost being there, the environment adds so much to the overall situation, almost like being there... :)
