A second of my Northern Beaches captures. What do you think of cropping on this one?

I tried one with a small amount off the top and another just revealing the bottom 2/3rd's or maybe 40% of the bottom half.

Exposure: 14 seconds
ISO: 100:
Lens: 18-35 at 18mm
Matrix metered

Nice colours and the misty effect makes it feel very tranquil.

yep, I'd take a smidge off the top and then perhaps a touch of contrast, very slight darkening & a bit of saturation boost. But we are just being picky here. Another great image! Well done (my favourite is still the other one though)

As you said in your first installment. Nothing like getting up early in the morning. I think you have inspired me ..... next month .... maybe ....

Lost Dingo. Love the misty quality that the water takes on with the long exposure. Great light too!

I think this one is fine as is. You've got a lovely dramatic image with really sharp focus on the foreground rock. Combined with the misty blues of the water and the lovely glow from the rising sun you've organised a great capture.

Almost worth getting out of bed early

One thing I just noticed mate. The shadow of the front rock has so much more detail in it than the other shadows. Is this something you've done in post processing? It doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the shadows now that I have noticed it.

Owen-nothing I have done in pp, or at least I am aware of anyway. The shadow is due to angle of the sun in regards to where the photo was taken from. The rock closest you mention is turned more so toward the sun than the others in the background. There is also a cliff that causes some shadow over the background rocks.

Stubbsy-not easy this time of year making it to these areas when it is already light just after 5 a.m. but ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

Alpha - appreciate your comments as always, the misty quality I always like or smooth calm. Need to work on the movement a bit more

The lighting is noteworthy Lostdingo. Congratulations on seeing the lighting opportunity. I think your choice of shhutter speed/ f/stop combination was masterful.
