I must have been under a rock for the last few months, but the whole announcement and plans for A1 have passed me by - I had never heard of it...

  But

But I've brought myself up to speed this afternoon and I'll be keen to go as well...

Yes would be a good do for people to practice there panning. I have Motorbike all weekend, with road racing ride day tomorrow and Moto X sunday, and a car rally tomorrow nite but will give that a miss this time.
Bikes have been doing well lately, bombarded with orders last 2 weeks.
Cheers and have fun

Jeff
A group outing on this event is quite good!
Let me see if I can talk and ask my contacts. I mentioned this to those contacts earlier and they said they will look into it.

Not as yet I don't think Barry. I'll be there for sure though, so I don't doubt this meet will be on.

If I'm not working I'll be there. A great place for shots (and to test panning technique) is between turns 1 & 2. Close to the track edge, a nice long straight, and you also get good braking shots at the entry to turn 2.
A mini meet perhaps???

not sure about going to this yet - any definates? any ideas of where to go around the circuit? I've never actually been to the raceway out there - have been next to it plenty of times, but never gone to a meeting there.

				Myself and Gladys are
definitely 100% going on Sunday. I'm 95% sure I'll go the Saturday and 90% the Friday too. Have never shot out there before, but that's what Fridays are for.

The program is jam packed, looks awesome!

Despite expressing interest earlier and really wishing that I could go, I had completely forgotten that it was mini-Leek's birthday, so my presence will be required here to keep 20 6-year olds under control... Maybe next year...

I'll definetly be there, but don't expect much sense from me (not that you get that anyway). I'll have had about 3 hours sleep on the drive down, and thats all.
Sheepie, best place for photos (IMHO) is the straight between turns 1 and 2, and turn 2, where they have to brake very heavy into a hairpin bend. Great veiwing area also, with a HUGE embankment.
Look forward to meeting you guys, can someone PM me a mobile number???

I will be there around 10.30-11.00 and will go down to turn 2 first up. Maybe we can use this as a rally point.
Sheepie, like Raskill says turn 2 (hairpin at end of main straight) is good but there are also good shots to be had at the last turn onto the main straight and also on the inside of the track at the top of the circuit (accessed over the tyre bridge).
Something else to consider is lighting. Turn 2 tends to be better in the mornings while the the other two areas above tend to be better in the afternoon when the sun swings around to the west and is behind you (assuming there is sun, forecast is for some showers in the afthernoon).

And if you get a ticket for the 3 days, I believe it's $95 (i.e. Friday's free). Paddock access is an extra $20, might be worth it.
