Ok! I am looking at organising a Minimeet in Canberra to shoot the Autumn colours and I want to get a gauge of the interest
This is open to all, and Sydney members are especially welcome to come and visit your smaller neighbour
As with all our meets this is an at your own risk activity, we are a bunch of people who all turn up at the same times to do the same things
Some suggested activities:
Sunset shoot from Black mountain or mt Ainslee
Embassies tour
Australian National museum architecture shoot
Parly house
And Dinner at Debacle (
http://outincanberra.com.au/debacle/ )
Accomodation is up to you to organise, but there is a range including the NEW Canberra City YHA (
http://www.yha.com.au/hostels/details.cfm?hostelid=240 )

IME, Filmsound, the Science Museum, and the National Gallery are also worthwhile points of interest in Canberra.
And we've selected this date as it immediately preceeds Anzac Day, so if you want a particularly long weekend, or you wish to be in Canberra for Anzac Day, this may work to your advantage.

That's longishhhhhhhhhhhhhhh weekeend will create drama both in traffic and expensive, people will take the advantage of Monday off for Tuesday's public holiday (Anzac day).
Visit Embassies, are they including the US and Vietnam?????????

I agree Birddog, but unfortunately it is the only one free in the prime colours time...
Before that is easter, and I do NOT want to be on the road then, after it is the photoshow and before easter is reserved

Just a quick question, if I was to stay around for Anzac day what sort of things would be available for photography, the Dawn service obviously could have potential and shots around the War Memorial, is there anything else ?

				Hi there,
If anyone is interested and this goes ahead I am thinking about flying down with my hubby and will have room for one more bum in the plane (if they are happy to pay a third for the flight which is about $120p/p all up).
Drop me a line if it goes ahead.
