You will only have to register once.. those people who have already registered for the pic a day challenge I will ask to register again so I can get all the fields

Your d70users log in name preceded by d70 (this will be your log in at potofgrass.ath.cx/gallery)

for example d70MHD

this helps me recognise D70 users from other users of my site and makes setting things up eaiser

Your email address (sends you a link to change your temp passwd)
Your real name (of prefered name)

Ahhh... and be no more than 15 characters so some might need to truncate

Not wanting to be pedantic..... but where you have said "s70", did you mean "d70" ? It appears to be the case, just wanted to double check.

And what do you mean by "usernames can only have numbers or digits"?

The software (which I will eventually get round to hacking) can only take a-z A-Z 0-9

meaning my way of easily descriminating d70 users from other users on my system will not work..

so just use your username preceded by d70
