We will run another one of these little comps at the end of the month so you have plenty of time to prepare ... but ... i will put all the suggested themes into a hat and draw four of them on the friday before the weekend The idea is to start this challenge at 5PM last working day of the week [usually friday] and close it at 8AM the next working day [usually monday] but long weekends can change those actual days. The aim is to pick 4 themes and everyone who wants to have a go at them can post up their 4 pics in the image section by midnight after the closing time and put a link from their thread into this thread. Any DSLRusers Member who cares to can then vote for their favorite on the four themes and post up in this thread with any comments if they care to make them. The Themes are: Theme 1: ...Long Exposure Theme 2: ...Nightscape Theme 3: ...Vegetable Theme 4: ...Time Voting lasts for 48 hours then i will tally up the votes and post up here. If you win ... you get nothing but praise. If you cheat ... you get nothing but Karma. You cannot vote for your own pics. Rules: Pic must be taken in the Challenge Period by the entrant. Any PP is allowed as the voters will say what is too much Pic 800 on longest side. We will start it at 5PM 22-02-08 and close it at 8AM Monday 25-02-08. Pics to be entered by 12 midnight 25-02-08 voteing to be from 12 midnight 25-02-08 to 12 midnight 27-02-08 Don't forget ... its just for fun so even if you didn't get a fantastic pic for a theme ... post it up anywayLast edited by Big Red on Fri Feb 22, 2008 5:36 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Any way we can extend the deadline to get images in? I have been painfully slack in getitng the camera out lately due to life and I'll be QLD that weekend. Should offer some interesting shooting options, but not coming back until Tuesday morning and I don't know what sort of PC access I'll have up there. No biggie if not, I will still participate, just be out of the contenders!!

I was thinking about the voting bit ...
someone could create 4 threads (one per theme) where each person submits the respective individual images to. Once the upload time has finished, the person who created the threads, could create a poll in that thread, with a link to each respective photo in the the thread.

Set a time limit, and the answers will be given for each theme when the time is up.

 My 2c worth.

The overall idea (of the weekenders thing) seem like a good one (btw).

the problem there is that there is a 4 image limit on threads hence the 4 themes and one pic for each theme. the other problem is that i can't do a poll as i'm not a mod and this is not an official comp so its not their responsability

Time to choose the themes... i printed out the list then cut into strips all the same size, shook up all the strips and poured into a bowl then held it in front of the fan and lightly shook until 4 strips blew out and the themes are: 1: Long Exposure 2: Nightscape 3: Vegetable 4: Time Don't forget, the time starts at 5.00pm this arvo Have fun

oops I missed it. Can I suggest, Shane, for a new topic to be started about 3 days prior, and the ideas released say the Friday morning? I think I tuned this topic out and hence missed it. Also being a bit unwell and spending some time on new PC setup rather than reading didn't help. Old D200+extras
